History
The Full Story
The ranch was part of a much larger holding recently subdivided known locally as the JAMASA PARK development, named after the original dairy farm. At purchase date of the property the cleared pasture sections of the ranch was running at approximately 88% capacity according to agronomy testing and hosts a variety of natural grasses with rye, clover and oaten growing in the paddocks. We plan to preserve and maintain the biodiversity section of the ranch with light grazing to keep bush fire fuel levels to a minimum using our livestock. We mainly graze this area of the ranch with our registered mob of Belted Galloway cattle and Cheviot sheep flock for short amounts of time during the year when we are calving or dropping lambs to help protect the younger livestock in the denser woodland at those cooler temperatures we endure at this location. We purchased this property in 2023 but have been running the operation since 2015, originally based in Pheasants Nest and than Burradoo we have seen our operation grow to a size that required larger acreage to support our needs & lifestyle. The cattle are used mainly for beef but we have a keen interest in preserving selective genetic lines along with the sheep & poultry which we hope to offer and supply to local consumer needs.
